NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK
This is the only national park neighboring a city in the world.
Only 7 kms from the capital city of Kenya-Nairobi, this would be an ideal outing for a city excursion. Although a seasonal park, most of the game remains in the protection of the park all year round. Herds of plains zebra, Wildebeest and eland enter the park during the great migration in July and august to enjoy the rich grazing until the onset of rains.
Within the park boundaries, there is the David Sheldrick wildlife trust.
The foundation is renowned for raising orphaned elephants and rhinos which are later re-introduced back to the wild. There is also a safari walk and animal orphanage within the park.
