This safari is ideal for travelers seeking to come face to face with the huge, yet gentle giants; the mountain Gorillas that reside in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park, within 3 days. The safari is by road, and a return flight back to Entebbe airport can be organized as an option.
Day 01

Kampala - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Travel Time +10hrs)

Our guide/driver picks you up at 7:30 am from your hotel or place of residence in Kampala. Depart by road to Mbarara (283 km from Kampala) via Masaka. Make a first stop over at the Equator crossing for photography. Proceed with a visit to Igongo Cultural village for a rewarding and amazing visit to the Ankole cultural museum. Lunch break is made at Agip Motel Mbarara. After lunch, drive to Bwindi. This is the lushest highland rain forest on in the world, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps. Dinner and overnight stay at Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Lodge/Mahogany Springs/Gorilla Safari Lodge/Nkuringo Bwindi Lodge/Similar (High end), Silverback Lodge/Engagi Lodge/Chameleon Hill Lodge/Similar (Mid-Range). Day 02

Bwindi Gorilla Trekking

Begin the day with breakfast ready for trekking, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the UWA staff. Ensure to carry along with you a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots etc. The guides will lead you inside the jungle in search for the shy Primates. You will be tracking the rare Mountain Gorillas, arguably one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but its well worth the effort. The afternoon is spent on a village walk. The Buhoma Village Walk gives you a great opportunity to see how the people surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest live. It also is a great way to support the local community in a direct way. The Walk begins with your guide at Buhoma Community Rest Camp and is most informative, rewarding to the average visitor. It will amaze you how resourceful the local people are as you see and learn their ways. Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Lodge/Mahogany Springs/Gorilla Safari Lodge/Nkuringo Bwindi Lodge/Similar (High end), Silverback Lodge/Engagi Lodge/Chameleon Hill Lodge/Similar (Mid-Range) / similar. Day 03

Bwindi - Kampala / Entebbe (Travel Time +10hrs)

After your morning breakfast, drive back to Kampala through the Kasese-Fort Portal road via Queen Elizabeth National Park for enroute game viewing. If you are lucky, you may spot Elephants, Antelopes and Warthogs. A stop over at the Equator line in Kasese. Enjoy the winding scenery of the foot hills of Mt. Rwenzori arriving in Fort Portal for lunch. Thereafter continue to Entebbe for your overnight flight to your next destination.
